School of Health Professions Outreach

91做厙 offers endless outreach opportunities for people of all ages to visit and enjoy the campus, ranging from academic conferences to respite events. Community involvement has a critical role at Concordia, and in the School of Health Professions. We want our students to not only be proficient in their field but with a servant mindset, eager to go out of their way to treat people in a Christian manner. Be sure to check out all of our events on the upcoming events page!

A few of our efforts include:

Asperger Teen Night

  • The School of Health Professions students team up with the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin twice a year to host Asperger Teen Nights. The nights are filled with food, fun, and fellowship that benefits all involved.

Healthy Heroes Camp

  • OT students provided a free, weeklong camp for kids. The camp focuses on teaching youth to live healthy lives, with an emphasis on physical activity, nutrition, and emotional health.

Wellness Exams/Pro-bono Clincis

  • PT students regularly perform free wellness exams, which include overall health assessments followed by custom plans to address any areas of concern.

Handwriting Camps

  • The OT Department hosts a free camp every summer that is open to youth groups. The day focuses on teaching manuscript (printing) skills and cursive skills. Handwriting deficits are one the most common referrals to pediatric rehabilitation. To address this need, Concordia’s OT students and faculty provide this camp that teaches a fundamental skill that, without properly learned technique, can limit a child’s progression in handwriting ability.
